For PERMIT HISTORY REQUESTS;

  • Check zoning map to ensure property is within the City Limits (yellow); https://www.ci.scappoose.or.us/planning/page/street-map
  • The Scappoose Building Dept. did not exist until approx.. 1996, if you are seeking any permit history prior to 1996 we might not have any documents.
  • The Building Dept. has an old ledger/binder from the county that logged general building permit data from 1979-1990. This data is very basic and often times without any description of work or missing addresses.
  • In addition, there was an area-wide addressing update in the late 1980’s; going from a 3 digit addressing system to the current 5 digit addressing system. No data conversion was kept.  Most addresses in this historical building permit ledger have the 3 digit addressing system.
  • Per the State archives, home plans are only required to be kept for 2 years after the final date although we should still have the issued permit document.
  • Building Department permit data from the last 10 years can be searched via e-permitting; https://aca-oregon.accela.com/oregon/
