Council Vacancy effective March 1, 2017
The Scappoose City Council has received a letter of resignation from Councilor Barb Hayden. Barb’s departure will be a real loss for the community. Her resignation will be effective March 1, 2017.
If you are interested in serving you are welcome to submit an application.
Starting March 1, 2017 the City of Scappoose will be accepting applications for the vacant City Councilor position.
Qualifications:
Registered voter of the State of Oregon
Be a resident of the City of Scappoose continuously during the 12 months immediately preceding the appointment
Application must be properly completed and returned to Susan Reeves, MMC, City Recorder at Scappoose City Hall no later than 5:00 p.m. on March 15, 2017 to be considered
Applications will be available March 1, 2017 online at www.ci.scappoose.or.us, at City Hall, 33568 East Columbia Avenue, or by contacting City Recorder Susan Reeves at sreeves@cityofscappoose.org or 503-543-7146.
Time line ~
Council applicant interviews will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017.
During the Council meeting on March 20, 2017, Council will select one person to fill the vacant position. After Council appoints the position that person will be administered the oath of office, and immediately join the rest of the Council for the meeting.
The Council term expires 12/31/2018.
The Council holds regular meetings on the first and third Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m.
