Meet the Chief
The current Chief of the Scappoose Police Department is Chief Chris A. Fluellen. Chief Fluellen is a Philadelphia, PA born native who has served in the law enforcement profession for over 14 years as a sworn officer. Prior to beginning his law enforcement career, Chief Fluellen honorably served in the United States Army as an Infantry Officer where he honed his skills in leadership and organizational planning. While serving in the United States Army, Chief Fluellen deployed twice in support of combat operations in Iraq both in 2008 & 2010 where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his service.
Chief Fluellen has served as a law enforcement officer in such States as North Carolina, Oregon, and Washington. Chief Fluellen has held numerous positions of responsibility during his law enforcement career such as Patrol Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, and Interim Chief of Police. He has also held specialty assignments such as Honor Guard, Rapid Deployment Force-(RDF) Squad Leader, and certified firearms instructor.
Chief Fluellen possess a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Chief Fluellen is honored to be able to serve the amazing community of Scappoose and is dedicated to living up to the department's motto of "Community Compassion".
The VISION of the Scappoose Police Department is to be the premiere Public Safety agency within Columbia County, OR. With a department capable of providing quality 24-hour Law Enforcement services to maintain a safe and secure community while maintaining a positive work culture.
